  Where does the universe end?

Why am I not allowed to do everything I want?

How does salt get into the Baltic Sea?

Can you hear the grass grow?

How does the milk get into the cow?

  Why is the banana bent?

Do animals talk to each other?

  What is muscle ache?

The children’s university started in 2005 as co-operation project of Rostock’s local newspaper „Ostseezeitung“ and the University of Rostock. Since then, young students at the age of 7 to 12 come to the university campus to listen curiously to the explanations and experiments of the lecturers four times a term.

The lectures for children start at 3 p.m. and last for about 45 minutes. Registrations are only requested for entire school classes. There are parking opportunities on the university premises.

All children get a student’s card which serves as participation card for the tombola at the end of the term.

Would like to send us any comments? Could you imagine becoming a lecturer of the children’s university? Please, get in contact with Ms Loseries (see contact details on the right).
