Rostock is not only an old Hanseatic city and tourist destination. With its university founded in 1419 it has also the oldest University in the Baltic Sea region. It has about 14500 students and, thus, is not small but also no “mass university” – one can study here in small groups and in close contact with the lecturers. There are many historical university buildings, but also a lot of modern houses which are excellently equipped – as for natural sciences or medicine. As “full university”, the university joins all important scientific fields and offers a broad spectrum of study opportunities to prospective students.  

Rostock has a good infrastructure, a relaxed housing market, affordable living costs and a lot of sports and cultural offers.
