"Female scientists meet female artists. Female artists meet female scientists"

Initiated by the Equal Opportunity Commissioner, meetings of female scientists of the University of Rostock and female artists from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern took place from August 2008 to April 2009, aiming to exchange about analogies and difference between artistic and scientific work. Several working meetings took place at the University of Rostock and the Art Castle of Plueschow to reflect the topic area “Oberflaechen – Surfaces” in the related own professional environment of both sides. The project got own dynamics in the end of project stage 1; an exhibition was planned and will be continued in cooperation with the Women’s Education Network, in the context on “The art of making a living from art”, and the University of Rostock.

From 27.8. to 29.8.2010, female scientists and artists present the results of their project „Female scientists meet female artists – Female artists meet female scientists” in an exhibition titled “Ways to the surface” in the Max-Planck-Institute of Demographic Research in Rostock. The exhibition is shown from 14 to 18 o’clock, entry is free of charge.
