BAAL: Further education in the Ambient Assisted Living field

BAAL is a joint project of strong partners from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that aims to develop further education and education offers in the ambient assisted living field.
Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) stands for many good ideas and technologies that ease the life of elder and other people in need as, for instance, GPS systems for dementia patients, fall mats that register vibrations as well as mobile home security systems.
The use of AAL technologies in everyday life raises many issues preferably to be discussed by people who work with such systems every day. For this reason, the University of Rostock, the IT College Putbus, the Fraunhofer Institute of Graphical Data Processing and the ANOVA Multimedia Studios GmbH has developed workshops, seminars, certificate courses and other further education offers for people who work in technical and nursing professions.
People with very different professional backgrounds and degrees will enter into a discussion in the project BAAL. Under the motto “Further education – for self-reliant living in old age”, engineers and geriatric nurses, service technicians and nursing scientists discuss today’s questions all around the topic ambient assistant living.
