Advice and Information
Whether you are approaching your Abitur and intend to start your studies and career soon or search for a master study course as a next career step as bachelor graduate or professional. Good and comprehensive information are important to select the right one from nearly 14,000 offered study courses in Germany.
In particular prior to starting your first course of study, one should not only search for one special course of study but, at first, identify a superordinated field of study (such as natural sciences) based on his or her own interests and skills. We offer various kinds self tests – most of them web-based – that could be a good support for determining own interests or aptitudes. They will help you to estimate whether you will be able to cope with the requirements of a certain field of study.
Advice and information
| The General Student Advisory Service of the University of Rostock | offers first organisational information on your intended studies during open consultation hours and a personal, more intensive consultancy regarding the selection of a course of study. |
| The specialized consultants | offer detailed information on single courses of study. |
| The student’s office | is your contact regarding all formal questions prior to the start of studies (approval, application, matriculation etc.) and during the studies (re-confirmation, leave of absence, change of course of study etc.). |
| The examination offices | organise examinations in the relevant course of study. Registrations for written examinations can be submitted here. |
| The Academic International Office (AAA) | advices and supervises foreign students coming to Rostock as well as students of the University of Rostock who intend to study abroad for one or more terms. |
| The Career Service | helps you with the start into working life, offering interesting seminars on additional qualifications and initiating contacts with companies. |
| The Start-up office | will get support as business starters if you even elaborated a concept for a business start-up in your final thesis. |
Who intends to continue his or her scientific career after his graduation as Bachelor or Master has, of course, the opportunity to get his or her doctorate degree at the University of Rostock.
Lifelong learning gets more and more important. Thus, the University of Rostock offers Further education and Distance learning courses.
