Enrolment Master

There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July or if you plan to start your studies in summer term, you have to enroll between 1. December and 15. January. The application form You will find at: application form.


Admission requirements:

  • As main admission requirement for the Master study course Business engineering, a first job-qualifying university degree in business sciences or engineering sciences with ECTS-Degree B (Bachelor of Science  with at least 180 credit points or comparable degree) has to be proven.
  • Verification of 36 credit points in economics and 36 credit points in engineering sciences, and 24 credit points in Mathematics and methodological scientific foundations
  • Foreign applicants have to proof sufficient German language skills. Proofs accepted by the University of Rostock are level DSH-2 or TestDaF-4 or an at least one year stay in a German-speaking country with a proven use of German language.

Study subject and objectives

The study course Master of Science Business Engineering (MSc WIW) is a research-oriented study course. It offers a high-quality overview on content, principles, concepts and methods of business engineering and, alternatively, mechanical or electrical engineering.

The graduates are qualified for hierarchy and function-overrating implementation in business economy and engineering science fields of occupations in companies.

The study course qualifies for determining creative research problems, initiating technical developments, establishing related business economic conditions and evaluating the related consequences deeply. The graduates apply their problem solution competences to the complexity of processes they are assigned for. They gain the competence to develop leadership qualifications.
