Enrolment Master

There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July. The application form You will find at: application form. (for summer term the application starts from 1 December to 15 January).

 

(2) The admission for the Master study course Business Pedagogy at the University of Rostock, the following additional admission requirements have to be met:

1. University degree according to section 1 at least with the ECTS-grade „B“ or, in case of different rating system, a comparable grade.

2. A proof on subject-relevant professional experience over at least six months.

3. The following additional requirements have to be proven:

- at least four weeks professional practice in the field of professional education (can be part of the six months professional experience according to pt 2);

- at least 30 credit points in the field of Business Pedagogy and

- at least 78 credit points in the field of Business Sciences

- additional 30 credit points in the field of Business sciences when choosing study course I or additional 30 credit points in the master study course Business Pedagogy according to Annex 2 of these examination regulations continues second school subject  when choosing study course II.

Even applicants who do not meet one of the criteria 1 to 3 listed in section 2 can get approved in case they justify expectations for a particular aptitude for this master study course. Related enrolment applications have be enclosed to a letter (two pages) which describes why the applicant has decided to apply for this study course and considers himself to be suitable for this.

Foreign applicants have to proof sufficient German language skills. Proofs accepted by the University of Rostock are level DSH-2 or TestDaF-4 (C1) or an at least one year stay in a German-speaking country with a proven use of German language.

Study subject and objectives

The study course Master of Arts Business Pedagogy is an application-oriented study course. It offers a high-level overview on contents, basic principles, concepts and methods of Business Pedagogy and connects the acquisition of professional knowledge to pedagogical professionalization in the field of vocational education.

The study course aims to preparing the students for working at vocational schools in the field “Economy and administration”. The students get enabled to develop teaching and learning processes autonomously, to implement them as well as to analyze and deliberate them. In addition, it qualifies, due to its high share of business science topics, for jobs in companies, extracurricular and intercompany educational institutions but also for jobs in the consultancy and vocational training policy field. In addition, it creates the conditions for further scientific work and qualifications in the vocational education research sector.

Possible fields of occupation are: Ambitious teaching at vocational schools (higher education), in vocational education or in youth and adult education as teacher, trainer or lecturer. Education management, human resource and organisation development in companies, education institutions, associations, chambers and public institutions, even in leading positions. Advisory work, e.g. education, job and career consultancy. Conceptional and advisory work in education administration and education policy and vocational education research in university and non-university research institutions.
