Enrolment Master

There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July (or from the 1. December to the 15. January for Summer term). The application form You will find at: application form.

Study requirements:

(1) As general admission requirements for the master study course Chemistry at the University of Rostock, a first job-qualifying university degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical engineering has to be proven.

(2) The following additional admission requirements have to be considered when applying for the Master study course Chemistry:

1. Proof of at least 140 acquired credit points in the field Chemistry, of at least ten credit points in the field of Physics and at least ten credit points in the field of Mathematics.

2. Applicants have to proof sufficient English language skills. Accepted proofs of sufficient English language skills are level B2 of the Common European Reference Framework or equivalent performances. Native speakers are exempted from this obligation to provide evidence.

3. Foreign students have to proof sufficient German language skills (level C1 of the Common European Reference Framework or equivalent performance). Native speakers are exempted from this obligation to provide evidence.

Study subject and objectives

The bachelor study course follows a four-term master study course. During these studies, every student chooses one specialisation from the following five: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, environmental chemistry and catalysis. The master study course is completed by a several months master thesis.
