Enrolment Master

There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July or if you plan to start your studies in summer term, you have to enroll between 1. December and 15. January.

Proof of a graduation as B.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences of a comparable bachelor of Agricultural sciences, Biosciences and Environmental Sciences; Proof of English language proficiency (B2);

Study course subject and objectives

The master study course „Crop production and Environment“ is arranged consecutively based on an education in a related bachelor study course in the field of Agricultural Sciences. It intensifies and ensures a solid scientific education in the following fields: 

  • Soil-Plant-Interactions and environmental effects on crop production are in the focus
  • Competence development in agricultural science regarding the fields soil, water, plant and environment and profiling for research, scientific work and company management
  • Close coupling of crop sciences, soil research and production ecology in consideration of the economic conditions of a production- and environment-oriented education
  • Graduates should learn to reflect within the area of tension “plant production and environment” in a science-oriented way, justify questions, develop hypotheses and check and implement solution approaches.

The research-oriented study course shall teach students knowledge, skill and experiences that qualify them for a job or a dissertation. Job options for graduates of the master study course “plant production and environment” are in the food production sector, in research and education institutions, municipal or state administrations, the EU and other international organisations, agricultural and environmental offices and Chambers of Agriculture.

The successful graduation as Master of Science in Crop Production and Environment is condition for starting furthergoing dissertation study courses where the focus will lay on intensification of independent scientific work.
