Enrolment Master
There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July or if you plan to start your studies in summer term, you have to enroll between 1. December and 15. January. The application form You will find at: application form. .
Admission requirements:
1) First job qualifying degree (Bachelor) in Social Sciences or comparable first job-qualifying university degree in the field Economics and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences or Mathematics.
2) Achieving a minimum grade of "good" in the examination under item 1.
3) Proof of purchase of at least 60 credit points (ECTS) or equivalent achievements in Social Sciences and / or Economics and Methods (including Mathematics and Statistics), of which at least 24 credit points (ECTS) from the field Methods, and 12 credit points (ECTS) from Demographics. A maximum of 12 credits can during the first year are brought to the Master's program; the recognition is a decision by the person / representative appointed by the respective institute / representative.
4) For students from abroad: the proof of good German language skills by means of TestDaF level 4 or DSH 2, except are native / native speakers and candidates / candidates with at least three years of international experience in Germany.

Study course subject and objectives
The study course Demography teaches knowledge and competences regarding analysis and understanding of demographic relations, with particular consideration of the conditions of demographic change.
Students will get a critical understanding of the most important demographic theories and existing methods and the social consequences of demographic change. They will be enabled to determine new problems, to analyse theoretical and empirically on their own, to frame subject-related positions and problem solutions for the field of demography and, in particular, the social consequences of demographic change, to advocate it with suitable arguments and with experts and laymen.
