Enrolment Master
There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July. The application form You will find at: application form.
Admission requirements:
- first academic university degree, completed with at least 2.3.
- The acquisition of at least 48 credit points in the field of Political economics, mathematics, statistics and business informatics, of which at least 24 credit points in Economics. In case of doubt, the examination board will decide on the acceptance of the proof.
- Foreign applicants have to proof sufficient German language skills. Proofs accepted by the University of Rostock are level DSH-2 or TestDaF-4 or an at least three years stay in a German-speaking country with a proven use of German language.

Study subject and objectives
The two-year study program with optional focus “Reasons and consequences of demographic change” is structured into modules. It comprises of five compulsory modules and four optional modules which provide an overview on the relationships within and investigation methods of the subject.
Simultaneously, advanced professional skills in the chosen specialization are taught. Two optional elements complement the program and aim to increase the competence in other fields of business economics or its related disciplines demography and sociology individually.
The events for these modules are distributed to three terms. The fourth term is intended for elaborating the master thesis. 30 credit points (LP) have to be gained per term. The studies can only be started in the winter term.
Alternatively to the regular master program, the study course offers an entry into the three-year structured dissertation study course with focus “Demographic change” in the second year.
