Application (NC)
There is an admission restriction for this study course so that an application is required. It has to be submitted online between 1. June and 15. July.
Study subject content and objectives
The study course aims to understand and treat linguistic communication as special field of activity. In its context, communication related solution approaches for concrete institutional or personal tasks will be presented and discussed. Students will be taught how to deal with problems caused by communication problems - their conditions shall be determined and analysed in their structural, semantic and pragmatic context, which is a particular concern of this study course.
The study course Linguistic communication and communication problems shall prepare students to the task of supporting persons of every age and from different social contexts regarding the development and use of their individual communicative skills and to intervene professionally in cases of communication impairments of different quality. On the basis of normal linguistic communication procedures and functions, the investigation of types, reasons and significance of impaired communication for the relevant person as well as of its effects on the social interaction shall be carried out. The functioning of communication and the opportunities of communication success or failure are seen in total and have to be related, accordingly, to the branches philosophy, linguistic theory, speech defect pedagogic and psychology.
