Enrolment Master

There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July. The application form You will find at: application form.

Requirements for studying:

(1) Proof of a graduation as B.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences or a comparable bachelor of Agricultural sciences, Biosciences and Environmental Sciences. Successful Bachelor's degrees are recognized in above mentioned courses with at least 180 credits or equivalent qualification, in particular Diploma degrees.

(2) Access to the Master's Program in Lifestock Sciences at the University of Rostock is connected to the following additional entry requirements:
1. Prospective students and applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language skills at Level B2 of the Common European Framework.
2. Prospective students and applicants whose native language is not German must prove knowledge of German at the level B2 of the Common European Framework.

Study course subject and objectives

The master study course „Livestock Sciences“ is arranged in a consecutive way, based on an education and corresponding bachelor study course in the field of Agricultural sciences. It specifies and ensures a solid scientific education in the following fields:

  • Livestock and reproduction
  • Animal nutrition
  • Livestock farming and production
  • Animal production economy

The research-oriented study course teaches the students knowledge, skills and experiences that qualify them for a job or a dissertation study course. Job options for graduates of the master study course “Livestock Sciences” are jobs in the bioenergy sector, the tourism branch, at insurance companies or pharmaceutical industries. 

The graduation as Master of Science in Livestock sciences is admission requirement for starting a continuing dissertation study course that focuses on intensifying the independent scientific aspects.
