Enrolment Master
There is an admission restriction for foreign students. Thus, an application is required. It has to be submitted between 1. June and 15. July or if you plan to start your studies in summer term, you have to enroll between 1. December and 15. January. The application form You will find at: application form.
Admission requirements:
(1) A first job-qualifying university degree has to be proven as general admission requirement for the master study course Mechatronics at the University of Rostock.
(2) The following additional admission requirements have to be considered when applying for the Master study course Mechatronics:
The first job qualifying degree has to be proven for a study course in the fields Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
1. Within the context of a university degree according to section 1 in the field Mechanical Engineering or a related subject, at least 15 credit points have to be proven in the field of Technical Mechanics and at least 15 credit points in the field of Mathematics.
2. Within the context of a university degree according to section 1 in the field Mechanical Engineering or a related subject, at least 9 credit points have to be proven in the field of Theoretical Electrical Engineering, at least 6 in the field of Control Engineering and at least 15 credit points in the field of Mathematics.
3. A mark better than 3.0, 50% of it resulting from the total mark achieved related to the degree listed in 1 and 50% resulting from the mark achieved for the related final thesis, has to be proven.
(3) The fulfillment of the admission requirements has to be proven with the application for enrolment. In case of doubt, the examination board will decide on the acceptance of the proof.
Study content and objectives
The content of the master study course Mechanical Engineering as well as the, more interdisciplinary oriented, master study courses Mechatronics and Naval and Marine technology are based on the bachelor study course Mechanical engineering.
