An admission restriction applies for this study course/subject. Thus, an application is required. For the study courses Dentistry and Human medicine, this is controlled for entire Germany by the Central Office for the Distribution of Study Places. Study content and objectives
The Faculty of Medicine provides a basic scientific, practically oriented, interdisciplinary education comprising of systematic lectures, practical trainings, courses, seminars and bedside-teaching. Theoretical and clinical learning content are combined with each other during the entire education. The study course Medicine is divided into a pre-clinical and clinical section.
The First Aid education and the nursing serves have to be absolved prior to the First Section of the Medical Licensing Examination latest. The internship has to be passed during the term holidays between the first section of the Medical Licensing Examination and the start of the Practical Year.
The Practical Year starts after the Clinical Section of the study course, with a minimum duration of at least 3 years, regularly after the 6th year of studies.
