Study subject and objectives
The study course philosophy enables a problem-oriented acquisition of the educational background of Europe’s intellectual history, trains autonomous and critical thinking (reflection and argumentation) and the competence to teach abstract content. It encourages communication skills, moderation and mediation. The bachelor study course Philosophy is completed with an open academic degree that – not being restricted to certain fields of occupation – qualifies the graduates for scientific work and for a special way of reflecting premises, for leading argumentative discussion and elaborating rational solutions in complex decision situations.
