Study subject and objectives
The study focuses on the physics, chemistry, biology and technology of new materials which is an area of modern research and development concentrating on the synthesis, characterisation and application of atomic and molecular units all the way to nano-structured materials and composites.
At Rostock University this research is supported in a broad interdisciplinary effort by the Faculties of Natural Sciences, Informatics and Electrotechnics and Engineering and by the Institute of Organic Catalysis (IfOK). This programme is the nucleus of a Postgraduate School at Rostock University covering also various other research topics (see www.uni-rostock.de).
