Teaching profession for special needs education

Demand development analyses for the single schools subjects deliver the following tendencies for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Source: Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Department VII 216/2P), with the “demand subjects” and “surpluses” being indicated manly for regional schools and extended secondary schools (related to the offers of the University of Rostock):

There will be a constant number of new employments from school year 2010/11 on. Special education teachers will be deployed in general education schools in the course of inclusion.

Self-analysis procedure cct-germany

Important: The teaching subject study course is undergoing significant changes. Based on the new teacher training law adopted on 4.7.2011, structure and content of the studies will be modified step by step.

NEW: From winter term 2012/13 on, passing the self-analysis procedure – www.cct-germany.de – is obligatory requirement for enrolment as teaching student.

Key

Important: It is not allowed to combine the specializations Educationally impaired children pedagogy and Pedagogy for mentally handicapped children.

* The education for music is implemented by the University of Music and Theatre. A aptitude test has to be passed for this subject.

** An aptitude test has to be passed for the subject sport.

Admission restriction

The subject special needs pedagogy is admission restricted. Students who got an admission for the subject special needs pedagogy are entitled to choose freely between special needs pedagogy subjects and the general education subject.
