Application directly at the Rostock University
For application directly to the Rostock University the following documents have to be submitted:
Application documents
- Completely filled in and signed application form (German version, English version)
- Certificate (authenticated copy) that qualifies for university admission in your home country together with a German or English translation of the document and
- All university leaving certificates or diplomas in the national language and as German or English translation
- Only the Master courses Computational Engineering and Physics are offered in English. For all other courses You will have to prove German skills. (German Language Examination DSH2-testation, or Central intermediate examination "Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung II" - ZMP II at least with mark "good" or TestDaf 3 or 4)
- In case of application for an PhD-program - confirmation of PhD supervisor
Notes to certifications
The University of Rostock demands officially certified copies of your original documents (original language) and additionally certified copies of the translations of certifications. Don't send us the original documents or certifications, but only the certified copies.
Certified copies
The University of Rostock demands officially certified copies. Officially means that the public authority or institution that issued the certificate confirms the copy's correspondence with the original by applying a relevant round stamp (official seal).
Certified copies can be issued abroad by:
- German embassies and consulates
- the school or university that issued the certificate
- a notary, who appostilled the copies
Official certifications within the Federal republic have to be implemented by:
- a seal-bearing German authorithy
- a notary
- a translator officially sworn-in for the relevant language in Germany
- the consulate or embassy of the home country in Germany
Translations
The University of Rostock accepts translations in German or English language. All translations have to be issued by officially sworn-in translators.
Bewerbungsfristen
Sommersemester: 01. Dezember bis 15. Januar d. J. für den Einstieg ins höhere Fachsemester und ausgewählte Masterstudiengänge
An der Universität Rostock gibt es zum Sommersemester keine Bewerbungsmöglichkeiten für grundständige Studiengänge zum 1. Fachsemester.
Wintersemester: 01. Mai bis 15. Juli d. J. für das erste und höhere Fachsemester
Unvollständig oder zu spät eingereichte Unterlagen werden nicht berücksichtigt. Unbeglaubigte Kopien oder Abschriften können nicht anerkannt werden.
Nach Prüfung Ihrer Unterlagen (in der Regel vier bis sechs Wochen nach Bewerbungsschluss) erhalten Sie im Ergebnis des Zulassungsverfahrens an der Universität Rostock einen Bescheid.
