The combination of agricultural and environmental sciences, unique throughout Germany, with an interdisciplinary research focus „AGRICOAST – Sustainable Resource Use in Agricultural Landscapes near the shore”, characterizes this faculty. In the three research fields
- Plants / Soil,
- Ecology / (Coastal)-Landscape and
- Biomass / Aqua and Lifestock Sciences
new research topics are identified jointly, projects are raised and implemented. Just like the research, the Bachelor and Master study courses of the faculty are oriented to a sustainable design, use and development of the rural area as a whole.
