Structured MD / PhD curriculum "Molecular Mechanisms of Regenerative Processes".
Welcome to the structured MD / PhD curriculum "Molecular Mechanisms of Regenerative Processes"!
"Regenerative Medicine" has established as a cross-sectional scientific area with high interdisciplinarity in clinical medicine with a broad research spectrum ranging from biomaterials to stem cell biology and from the analysis of molecular mechanisms to tissue engineering. The potentials of "Regenerative Medicine" are only about to be exploited and there is an urgent need for associated research as well as for respective education of students and young scientists in order to ultimately advance the currently developing therapy options into generally applicable clinical routine.
Our innovative MD / PhD curriculum shall offer students who enroll for a 2-year (or 3-year) doctorate program (Promotionsstudium) with the intention to earn a doctorate degree in medicine / medicinal life sciences, the possibility to enhance their skills by attending research accompanying courses in the rapidly developing field of "Regenerative Medicine".
Students that hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent from a university in Natural Sciences / Biotechnology or related fields and other universities / medical schools, or a degree from the Medicine Curriculum (1st Staatsexamen) of the University of Rostock are invited to apply for the structured MD / PhD program "Molecular Mechanisms of Regenerative Processes".
Courses are assembled in four modules: "Participants' Camp (PC)", "Active Contribution (AC)", "Dedicated Classes (DC)", and "Soft skill Courses (SC)", which are regarded as independent entities.
As student of the MD / PhD curriculum "Molecular Mechanisms of Regenerative Processes" you are entitled to become a member of the Graduate Academy (GA) of the University of Rostock. Please check on the courses that are being offered to you by the GA on their homepage.
