Course Description
Short description of the course:
The aim of the course is to understand the basics of positive psychology and subjective well-being. Positive psychology is the scientific study of positive experiences, positive personality traits, and the application of the principles of positive psychology in institutions and school practice. The course will introduce the history of positive psychology and the contribution of this new field to some traditional areas of research in psychology. Controversial areas (e.g., what happiness is, how we can measure it, what determines it, and whether we can increase it) will be critically presented in terms of different interpretations and relevant empirical data.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- understand the basic principles of positive psychology;
- understand how to apply positive psychology techniques in daily life;
- understand the power of positive life experiences;
