Unit Research and Knowledge Transfer (D1.3)
We provide you with information concerning research funding, contract research, service contracts, knowledge transfer and scientific fairs. We also advise on processes concerning third party research funding such as budgetary and legal matters.
Unit Third-Party Funds (D2.2)
We support and assist you with operating third-party funded projects, particularly by helping to prepare and checking payment claims and proofs for the funding agency. We also conduct and process post calculations of approved projects and advise on operating projects.
The Graduate Academy has set itself the task to promote junior scientists as comprehensively as possible in order to recruit them as the next generation of qualified young professionals for our University. As the central service and coordinating office for junior scientists, the Graduate Academy contributes to improving and developing the conditions for doctoral candidates at our University. To promote the continuing qualification of young researchers, the Graduate Academy offers qualification options for graduate students of all disciplines. On the Website of the Graduate Academy you find more information on our qualification program, membership options, funding opportunities, and current events for young researchers.
Through this project, which was supported and funded by the BMBF and the University of Rostock since 2013, the foundation has been laid for the new feedback channel. „From university into business“: Following this motto, the three former students from the University of Rostock Marvin Davieds, Marcus Szymanski and Jan Tauer continue the professionalization and development of the system. With the University of Rostock as a long-term partner, further research, e.g. on the didactic advantages which can be achieved. Since March 2017, the team receives support by the EXIST start-up grant to develop a working business model. Tweedback is already in use on over 30 universities as well as several conferences, nationally and internationally.

We assist and coach in the fields of entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and business succession. Additionally, we offer constest and conferences for creative minds, such as „Inspired“ and MVpreneur Day.

The Enterprise Europe Network is a key instrument in the EU’s strategy to boost growth and jobs. Bringing together around 600 business support organisations from more than 60 countries, we help small companies seize the unparalleled business opportunities in the EU Single Market.
The joint project “KarriereWegeMentoring Wissenschaft M-V” is part of the state mentoring initiative, being implemented by both the University of Rostock and the University of Greifswald. The mentoring programme supports highly qualified young female scientists. The central element of the programme is the mentoring relationship between mentor and mentee. In addition, we offer a high-quality seminar programme to our mentees, which is geared towards the specific career path of young female scientists and prepares purposefully for future leadership and management duties.

Patent- und Normenzentrum der Universitätsbibliothek Rostock
The Patents & Standards Centre of the University Library Rostock supports you concerning your research projects and protection of your scientific research results by providing information about patents, by searching patents as well as by monitoring technology fields.
The Verwertungsverbund of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (VVB M-V) is an alliance consisting of nine research institutions, which are university and not university related. The VVB M-V supports all staff members of these institutions during the whole process of applying for a patent via exploiting the scientific invention economically.
Hanseatic Institute for Entrepreneurship and Regional Development an der Universität Rostock
The the education and research institute HIE-RO aims to increase, employ and evaluate entrepreneurial skills and potentials. HIE-RO focuses mostly on start-up, start-up funding, business and organsiational development, regional economic development (incl. the educational sector).
Rostock denkt 365° e.V.
[Rostock denkt 365°] e.V. aims to generate exchange with science stakeholders of Rostock and beyond. It also offers and coordinates a network with stakeholders from science, business, politics, and culture in order to commonly facilitate a dynamic, creative, and cosmopolitan science centre Rostock.
