Department Life, Light & Matter (LL&M)

How can laser technology help us understand global climate change? How do we disengage coronary implants, so called stents, after their work is done? How do atomic and molecular properties affect macroscopic systems? The Department "Life, Light & Matter" (LL&M), founded in 2007, pursues these and other questions. As an interdisciplinary center interfacing natural and agricultural sciences, as well as engineering and medicine, LL&M is a research department with special focus on translating basic research to industrial applications.
