Making teaching accessible

Guidelines for teachers at institutes of higher education in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Cover of the guide for barrier-free teaching: lecture hall
Rows of chairs of a fully occupied lecture hall seen from the back

The guide gives you tips on how to make courses or lectures barrier-free and how to take the individual needs of students with disabilities into account. For ensuring barrier-free teaching and didactics, enormous changes are rarely necessary. Many things are already part of "good teaching" and benefit all students.

The guide ...

... provides information on various forms of impairment and their effects on studying,

... offers support for a barrier-free design of your courses and materials,

... presents consulting and support services offered by the universities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

You can download the guide here or pick it up as a print edition in the area of diversity and equality of the Diversity Staff Unit in the main building of the university. We will be happy to send you copies by post. You can send requests to inklusion@uni-rostock.de.
