OBJECTIVE OF THE SUSTAINABILITY FUND:
- The Sustainability Fund supports initiatives by members and affiliates of the University of Rostock that contribute to sustainable, i.e. ecologically, economically, socially and culturally viable operations at the University of Rostock.
- Preference is given to measures that have an impact in several areas of the university (e.g. several faculties) and are ideally planned by people from different organisational units.
FUNDING SCOPE:
- The maximum funding amount can be between €1,000 and €3,000, depending on the number of departments involved (= faculties, central facilities, central university administration etc.; up to € 1000 for one area, up to € 3000 for at least three areas).
- The funding is intended exclusively for financing material costs (e.g. printing costs or travel expenses), support staff and costs for speakers.
- The maximum project duration is one year.
- It is generally possible for the funding applied for from the Sustainability Fund to represent partial funding, i.e. the project can also receive other funding.
- Personnel costs (with the exception of funds for auxiliary staff), final and qualification work and hospitality costs are not eligible for funding. Funding is also not available for projects that are coming to an end or have already been implemented.
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
- A call for proposals is announced twice a year.
- Submission deadlines are January 1 and July 1. The first submission deadline after the introduction of the program ends on 08 September 2025.
- Outside of these deadlines, smaller projects that are a reaction to current events can be funded after prior consultation with the Pro-Rector for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities (Contact: pft-fondsuni-rostockde), provided that funds are still available
- Applications must be submitted via the ONLINE-Application Portal.
PROCEDURE:
- Applications from students must be submitted in collaboration with members of the scientific, administrative and/or technical communities. Upon submission, it must be demonstrated that processing is secured for the entire duration of the project.
- The Pro-Rector for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities is responsible for deciding on the allocation of funds from the Sustainability Fund in accordance with the recommendation of the Sustainability Round Table.
- Preparation of an approval or rejection letter (probably 4-6 weeks after the application deadline).
- Announcement of the funding decision by the Pro-Rector for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities via the website of the University of Rostock and in reports of the Pro-Rectorate for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities.
