For questions that are not related to a specific study programme, the Student Service Centre, in particular the General Student Advisory Service, is your contact.
For questions concerning a specific study programme, the subject advisors or examination offices and study offices in the faculties are responsible. ▼ You can find an overview of the contact persons in the faculties below.
Information and Walk-in Counselling
In our office hours, prospective and current students receive information regarding course orientation, change of study programmes and receive answers to questions concerning individual progress of study. We also forward you to other helpful contacts within and outside the university.
The telephone office hours are open, i.e. there is no registration or appointment, a short waiting time may be expected.
We also offer on-site consultations during Tuesday and Thursday office hours. An appointment is required for this. Appointments can be made via the telephone office hours or via the ► Info-Service
Assistance with the preparation of the timetable
The respective departmental student councils are the first to offer competent assistance in creating timetables. In addition, the campus specialists also offer assistance to first-year students in creating their individual timetable. Just send them an email.

individual study advice
Proficient throughout the course of studies
In the course of their studies, students are confronted with a wide variety of demands: orientation at the beginning of their studies, choice of courses and specialisations, exam preparation, time and self-management. It is not always possible to cope with these demands without problems. Students can discuss the problems with the study advisor, discuss possible solutions and address their own fears and uncertainties.
Successfully mastering exams
Students want to be competent in oral and written exams. However, the phenomenon of exams often appears to be an unmanageable hurdle.
- How can I learn most efficiently?
- What is the most sensible way to divide up the exam material?
- What do I do about those catastrophic thoughts in my head?
- How can I relax and strengthen my motivation?
Dropping out of studies and reorientation
If doubts arise with regard to the decision to study once made or if there are indications that the success of the study programme is at risk (for subject-related or personal reasons), the various perspectives of the chosen path can be examined and, if necessary, new study/educational alternatives can be reflected upon and discussed.
