Undergraduate and advanced degrees

There are so-called undergraduate degree programmes, which can be started directly after the high school graduation and lead to a first degree qualifying for a profession. Bachelor degree programmes, state examination programmes (teaching and medicine) and Master's degree programmes (theology) belong to the basic degree programmes.

The so-called advanced degree programmes can only be started by those who already have a first degree (usually a Bachelor's degree). The advanced degree programmes are the Master degree programmes.
