General admission requirements

Admission requirements and admission restrictions

In order to be able to study at the University of Rostock, the admission requirements described here must be met. Irrespective of this, admission restrictions ("numerus clausus") apply to certain degree programs. In the case of degree programs with restricted admission, an application is therefore required in addition to meeting the admission requirements.

Germans and educational residents

For undergraduate degree programs at the University of Rostock, German citizens and educational residents need a university entrance qualification. Educational residents are all international students who have obtained their university entrance qualification in Germany or at a German school abroad.

Germans with an educational qualification obtained abroad

Germans with an educational qualification obtained abroad can check in advance whether their degree is recognized as a university entrance qualification. For this purpose, please use the information portal anabin.
