Master courses for non-German prospective students

Application for master studies with German university degree

If you already acquired a degree (Bachelor or otherwise) on a German institution of higher education, you count as educational resident and apply for master studies directly on the University of Rostock.

Incomplete or delayed applications cannot be taken into account. Unattested copies or transcripts will not be accepted. After all documents have been checked you will be notified of the results of the admission procedure and get your letter of acceptance.

Application periods for master programs without local admissions restrictions:

Summer semester: between February 1 to March 31 each year.

Winter semester: between August 1 to September 30 each year.

Summer semester: between December 1 to January 15 each year.

Winter semester: between June 1 to July 15 each year.

Application for master courses for enrolled students of international universities

If you have studied on a national or international university and seek entrance to a master course with local admissions restrictions of the University of Rostock you have to apply via the Rostock University.

Application periods for master programs with local admissions restrictions:

Winter semester: between June 1 to July 15 each year.

Further information can be found here.

If you have studied on a national or international university and seek entrance to a master course without local admissions restrictions of the University of Rostock, you have to file an Application via Uni-Assist. This application must be submitted in due time with all the necessary documents.

Application period of the summer term:

November 15 to December 31 each year for entrance to higher semesters and selected master courses.

The University of Rostock does not accept applications of first term courses of study during this application period.

Application period of the winter term:

April 1st to May 31 each year (for Computational Sciences and Engineering, Electrical Engineering)

May 1st to July 15th (for other Master courses)
