Studying in Rostock: Admission requirements

Are you interested in studying at the University of Rostock? Here you will find information about the different types of university entrance qualification, about aptitude tests and other application or enrolment requirements. This information applies to:

  • German prospective students (regardless of where they obtained their university entrance qualification) and
  • International prospective students with a German university entrance qualification and a European Abitur (see KMK decision of 14.06.2018)

International prospective students who have obtained their university entrance qualification abroad can find more information ► here

Your path to admission

Step 1: Once you have decided on a degree program, first clarify whether you have a university entrance qualification and whether there are any other subject-specific admission requirements to be met for the chosen degree program. You can find more information about this further down on this page.

Step 2: Then find out whether your chosen degree program is restricted or unrestricted. This information can be found on the website for the chosen degree program or this ► overview of all degree programs.

Step 2a (only for restricted-admission degree programs): For restricted-admission degree programs, you must first apply by the deadline. Further information can be found in the ► menu item Application for a study place.
As soon as you receive a letter of admission, you can enroll (step 3).

Step 3: If the chosen degree program is open admission or if you have received a letter of admission for a degree program with restricted admission, you can ►enroll.
