Virtual study opportunity abroad: Minor-programs in EU-CONEXUS

For bachelor-degree students, the EU-CONEXUS Minor offers the opportunity to actively shape the future of our coastal regions. This interdisciplinary program facilitates collaborative learning with students from nine European universities within the EU-CONEXUS alliance. The combination of international exchange, innovative teaching formats, and practical research projects on sustainable, smart, and resilient coastal areas expands specialist knowledge, strengthens intercultural skills, and provides access to real-world challenges.

Format und Ablauf

All courses are held online and in English, each worth 6 ECTS credits. Upon successful completion, the courses can be credited towards your degree at the University of Rostock, similar to an Erasmus exchange. It is important that the chosen courses are thematically relevant to your degree program; however, there is some flexibility in the elective area.

In addition to online lectures, selected courses have incorporated a physical mobility component, during which all students meet on-site for one week to solidify their learning through practical activities. Travel and accommodation costs can be covered by the project. The mobility process comprises the following steps:

  1. Before the start of the semester: Application, selection and nomination, and course allocation

  2. At the beginning of the semester: Signing of the learning agreement by the students and the internationalization officers of the respective department, as well as the host university

  3. During the semester: Attendance at courses and taking of the exam

  4. Towards the end of the semester: Receipt of a transcript of records from the partner university and credit transfer for the course via the examination office using the transcript of records, the learning agreement, and the transcript of records from the home university.

The courses offered for the winter semester 2025/26 can be found in the following overview:

Specific course content and further information can be found in the minor course catalogues:

PLEASE NOTE: Not all courses listed in the course catalog are offered in each semester; only those shown in the course overview above are available.
