KarriereWegeMentoring Wissenschaft promotes the best female researchers and accompanies them on their career path within and outside of academia.

The KarriereWegeMentoring Wissenschaft project is funded by the European Social Fund and the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The state-wide mentoring project is implemented by the University of Rostock and the University Medical Center Rostock together with the University of Greifswald.

Female PostDocs/JunProfs

The 18-month programme supports excellent female postdocs and junior professors on their career paths to a leading position in science und research. The central component is the one-to-one mentoring relationship. The seminar programme prepares participants for future leadership and managerial positions. In peer groups the mentees can use the advice they receive from colleagues to intensively reflect on their own goals and progress. At networking events, mentees meet other young female academics and invited guests and gain the opportunity to discuss career-relevant issues. In addition, individual coaching with a professional is possible.

Female Doctoral Students

Female Doctoral Students

The 16-month programme supports excellent female doctoral students on their career paths in science, industry or society. It is based around the relationship between the mentee and a mentor. The seminar programme has been tailored to fit the specific career paths of early career researchers. In peer groups the mentes can use the advice they receive from colleagues to intensively reflect on their own goals and progress. At networking events, mentees meet other young female academics and invited guests and gain the opportunity to discuss career-relevant issues. In addition, individual coaching with a professional is possible.

Female Physicians

Female Physicians

The 14-month programme supports ambitious female physisicans in planning and developing their professional careers. In the peer group, the mentees discuss their career goals among themselves, exchange experiences and support each other. A professor from a University Medical School acts as a mentor advising the mentee on her individual career strategies, introducing her to relevant networks and imparting informal knowledge about structures and rules of the game in the academic world. Several training sessions offer a wide range of qualification and development opportunities.
