KarriereWegeMentoring is part of a federal state mentoring initiative that the University of Rostock and the University Medicine Rostock (UMR) are implementing across universities, in cooperation with the University of Greifswald. The project is supported by the federal state of Mecklenburg Vorpommern and the European Social Fund (ESF). The comprehensive and varied KarriereWegeMentoring programmes support highly qualified female early career researchers on their path to obtaining a professorship or other leading position. The mentoring programmes support the participants in managing their careers in a goal-driven way, in expanding their subject-specific networks and in taking on managerial tasks with confidence. An additional mentoring programme enables female graduates to decide whether "doctoral thesis yes or no". KarriereWegeMentoring programmes offer a structured and supervised mentoring partnership, a series of competence seminars as well as professional assistance during the process which guarantees the transfer of acquired knowledge and skills into the daily routine.
