The Graduate Academy at the University of Rostock is the central service and coordination office for doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers. As a service unit within the Staff Unit Talent Development and Diversity, it supports registered researchers in the early stages of their careers whose degree programs have been registered.

Participate in qualification courses free of charge
All events and courses published through the Graduate Academy’s qualification program are available free of charge.
Getting grants for participation in scientific conferences
You may apply for financial assistance to cover travel expenses for participation in scientific conferences. Funding is provided in accordance with the applicable funding guidelines.
Getting grants for external qualification measures
Participation in external training programs may also be supported through grants.

Getting involved in developing the qualification program
Registered researchers in the qualification phase can share their interests and needs, thereby contributing to the further development of the interdisciplinary qualification program. We conduct an annual needs assessment survey. You are welcome to let us know your needs as early as the time of registration.
Receiving Certificates
Certificates are issued for completed qualification courses, serving as proof of the skills acquired through the Graduate Academy.

Network across Disciplines
The Graduate Academy offers a wide range of opportunities to meet other doctoral students, exchange ideas across disciplinary boundaries, and make new connections.

Electing the Graduate Council
Registered researchers in the qualification phase are eligible to participate in the election of the Graduate Council and to support the representation of their interests with their vote.
Candidate for the Graduate Council
All registered researchers in the training phase who wish to actively participate and represent the interests of doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers may run for the Graduate Council.
