What does my status mean?
On the "Application for Admission" page of your application in the online application portal, you have an overview of all your applications.
The respective application status and application subject status will be displayed to you.
You will also be notified of important status changes via email.
An application is in the "in preparation" status when you have saved the application in the application portal but have not yet submitted it.
Applications with the status "in preparation" can be edited at any time.
When all the information is correct and complete, click on "submit application". If the submit button is not visible, it may be because you have already submitted the maximum number of applications or the application deadline has passed.
The status "submitted" means that you have submitted the application and that it is with the university, but it has not yet been reviewed by the student secretariat.
Please also pay attention to the instructions that you may need to send additional documents to the university.
Applications in this status do not yet participate in the allocation process and can be edited by you, except for the choice of degree program; please use the "withdraw and edit application" button for this.
Additional information (such as university entrance qualification, previous studies, etc.) that is not linked to other submitted applications can also be edited.
You can withdraw your submitted application at any time if you no longer wish to participate in the process; please use the "withdraw application" button for this.
We strongly recommend that you save or print the corresponding letter in this status for your records and keep it safe.
The "in progress" status indicates that the processing of a submitted application has begun by the student office. If not all information is correctly provided or if not all documents for special applications or second-degree studies have been submitted, the application status will also be set to "provisionally excluded" by the student office. Applications in this status can be withdrawn by you if you no longer wish to participate in the process; please use the button ◄ withdraw application for this. However, you can no longer make changes to the application as the processing has already started; in this case, please contact the student office for any changes.
Please regularly check the applicant portal for the respective application under the "view application details" button for new notifications from the student secretariat.
The "provisionally excluded" status is applied to a reviewed application field by the student office to signal that the processing of the application field has been completed, but not all information is correct (e.g., no university entrance qualification) or not all required documents for special applications or second-degree studies have been submitted, and that the review of the application field has been temporarily rejected. This status is meant to inform you that, based on the current status, participation in the process is not possible.
The "valid" status is applied to a reviewed application/application field by the student office to signal that the processing of the application field/application has been completed, all information is correct, all required documents for special applications or second-degree studies have been submitted, and the review of the application/application field has been positively concluded. All applications/application fields classified as valid participate in the allocation process. Applications in this status can be withdrawn by you if you no longer wish to participate in the process; please use the "withdraw application" button for this. However, you can no longer make changes to the application as the processing of the application has already been completed; in this case, please contact the student office for any changes.
An exception applies to the degree programs in Human and Dental Medicine in higher semesters:
Here, the application status "valid" only informs you about the receipt of your documents and does not confirm a review of completeness on our part. This is your responsibility.
The admission notice will be made available to you under "Incoming Mail" in the application portal. Within the specified deadline, you have the opportunity to apply for enrollment. To do this, use the "apply for enrollment" button.
The status "admission offer currently not possible" indicates that no positive decision could be made for you in the selection process (NC procedure) at this time. Therefore, no admission offer is possible for now. In this status, you must wait to see if you can receive a study place through the withdrawal of another applicant before the start of the lectures (e.g., via a clearing process).
The status "open admission" will be displayed after you have submitted an application for a degree program with open admission. Enrollment is only possible if you have received an admission offer for your restricted-access combination subject.
The status "excluded" is applied to a reviewed application/application field by the student office to signal that the processing of the application/application field has been completed, but not all requirements have been met or not all required documents for special applications or second-degree studies have been submitted (resubmission of documents is no longer possible), and that the review of the application/application field has therefore been negatively concluded. All applications or application fields that have been excluded cannot participate in the allocation process.
Withdrawn applications no longer participate in the process. The application will not be processed by the student office until you submit it again. By withdrawing, you can edit all information except for the desired degree program, provided it is not linked to other submitted applications; please use the "edit application" button for this. The withdrawn application can be resubmitted within the application deadline and will then be back in the "received" status; please use the "submit application" button for this.
The status "enrollment requested" indicates that you have requested enrollment by completing the online enrollment process.
The status "enrollment application in progress" indicates that a requested enrollment application, including all application fields, has been moved to this status by the student office to signal that the processing of the enrollment application has begun.
