Kick-off for improving working conditions in academia on 10 June 2026

The University of Rostock is committed to continuously developing and sustainably improving the working environment and framework conditions for academic staff. To this end, the University is launching a certification process with the European Commission (“HR Excellence in Research Award”).

At the heart of this initiative is a participatory process in which we will jointly reflect on what is already working well and identify specific areas for further development and improvement. The aim is to develop concrete and practical measures that will provide noticeable support in your day-to-day work.

You can also find a more detailed explanation on our website (in German only).

We would therefore like to warmly invite you to actively contribute to an initial kick-off meeting:

Wednesday, 10 June 2026, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Room SR019, University Main Building (Universitätsplatz 1)

During the kick-off meeting, we will provide a brief overview of the certification process before exploring working conditions at the university together with you in a World Café format. The discussion will focus on questions such as:

  • What works well in your everyday work?
  • Which challenges do you encounter?
  • Where is there room for improvement?

Your participation will make an important contribution to actively shaping working conditions at our university.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at personalentwicklunguni-rostockde.

We look forward to an engaging exchange of ideas!
