It addresses all new international guest and full-degree students. They will receive abundant information about their study time at the University of Rostock. The Orientation Week begins on 3rd of April 2017 with a welcome address by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Gender and Diversity Management of the Rostock University, Prof. Dr. Bettina Eichler-Löbermann, and Head of the Rostock International House, Michael Paulus in the assembly hall (Aula) in the main building of the University of Rostock, Universitätsplatz 1. After that, the staff of the Rostock International House will provide extensive information on enrollment into the courses, student IDs and semester tickets as well as general advice on living and studying in Rostock. During the following days, all students will have the opportunity to enrol in their study courses as well as various language and sports courses and get to know the refectory and the university library. The Local ERASMUS Initiative also offers various activities like a tour through the bars and clubs of Rostock, a welcoming party and trips to Warnemünde or Berlin.
