Summer School Reunification (SARU)
The Summer School on (Re-)Unification is an interdisciplinary summer school encompassing various different topics ranging from politics, history and demographic changes to economic systems, secret police, gender relations and language/linguistic aspects. Target group are students and young scholars in the relevant fields, and/or focusing on the topics of (re-) unification / (North) Korean Studies.
The goal of this summer school is to address the theme of unification processes in Korea by way of analyzing unification processes in Germany -- and other countries that underwent comparable processes. The cultural aspect of encounter between Germany and Korea within the framework of European unification should enable the participants to get information and tools at hand that would enable them to analyze the respective historical and political situation. The idea is to enhance the typical discussion and not to restrict the discussion to political and economic aspects but open it to all relevant fields.
