Diversity Fund

Diversity Fund of the Vice-Rector for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities

OBJECTIVE OF THE DIVERSITY FUND:

  • The Diversity Fund supports initiatives by members and affiliates of the University of Rostock that promote diversity and equal opportunities and improve the participation of people from previously underrepresented groups. This includes areas such as gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, physical and mental abilities, religion and ideology, social background, ethnic origin and nationality as well as age.
  • Examples of measures that can be supported by the Diversity Fund include exhibitions, specialist lectures, lecture series, workshops and other activities.
  • Preference is given to measures that have an impact in several areas of the university (e.g. several faculties) and are ideally planned by people from different organizational units.

TARGET GROUP:

  • All members and affiliates of the University of Rostock are eligible to apply.
  • Applications from independent initiatives or bodies (e.g. student councils) of the University of Rostock are particularly welcome.

FUNDING SCOPE:

  • The maximum funding amount is €1,000 and is intended exclusively for financing material costs (e.g. printing costs or travel expenses), support staff and costs for speakers.
  • The maximum project duration is one year.
  • It is generally possible that the funding applied for from the Diversity Fund represents partial funding, i.e. the project can also receive other funding.
  • Personnel costs (except for funds for auxiliary staff), final and qualification work and hospitality costs are not eligible for funding. Funding is also not available for projects that are coming to an end or have already been implemented.

  • Submission deadlines are July 1 and January 1.
  • Outside of these deadlines, smaller projects that are a reaction to current events can be funded after prior consultation with the Vice-Rector for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities, provided that funds are still available.
  • Applications from students must be submitted in collaboration with members of academia or administration.
  • Applications must be submitted via the ONLINE-Application Portal.

  • The Commission for Equal Opportunities and Diversity (KCV). is responsible for deciding on the allocation of funds from the Diversity Fund.
  • In the course of the assessment, the commission can decide independently whether a personal presentation of the project by the applicant(s) is necessary in order to give the commission members the opportunity to ask questions.
  • Preparation of an approval or rejection letter (probably 4-6 weeks after the application deadline).
  • Announcement of the funding decision by the Pro-Rector for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities via the website of the University of Rostock and in reports of the Pro-Rectorate for Research, Talent Development and Equal Opportunities.
