Workshops

Workshops

RIH offers various different workshops every semester for ongoing education, and these are tailored for foreign and refugee students. You can see the current offers here:

Academic writing in German

This workshop will cover various different aspects of academic writing. In the first module we will deal with finding and limiting a theme for an assignment, and how you can formulate good questions. You will learn how an assignment is structured and you will write your first short text sections on the course. In module 2 we address the aspects of reasoning, language and style. You will become acquainted with the peculiarities and conventions of German academic language and you will be given hints and tips on how to implement them in your own text. In the third module you will learn the reading and writing techniques that you can use every day in your studies, thus making reading, writing and thinking simpler.

Language of the course: German

Location: online, via Zoom (link on prior registration)

Target group: Refugees and international students at the University of Rostock

Registration: by email to refugees@uni-rostock.de (please state your name, nationality, study subject, and semester)

Monthly get-together

Monthly get-together

The Stammtisch is our monthly get-together for meeting new people, having fun and practicing the German language together. It's really not about the right grammar but about the fun of interacting with each other in a safe and casual environment. On these evenings, however, we want to try and speak only German. Nevertheless, you are also very welcome to join uin if you have only a beginner's level (A1) and may not be comfortable to speak in German the whole evening. We meet once a month on monday evening at 7pm in the Global Café (Parkstraße 6). Please find the exact dates on our flyer
We're looking forward to meeting you there!
