Welcome to the Medical Winter School MedWin!

Most of us are dedicated to research to improve our understanding of diseases and to derive new treatment options for patients. Even when using animal models or less complex systems like cell cultures, a particular understanding of the structure of the human brain is of great importance. This is precisely where the Winter School MedWin comes in.

At the heart of the Winter School is the dissection of human brains and the assessment of the brain's histological structure. These learning units are complemented by lectures and discussions on highly relevant neurological diseases. A key focus is modeling and precisely simulating the neuronal effects of electrical implants that are already clinically applied to patients with Parkinson's disease.

The Winter School is a chance to meet experts in this field and discuss future visions with them. The event week is rounded off with a visit to the capital city, Berlin, as well as an unforgettable night at the Rostock boat hotel "Likedeeler”.

The MedWin of the University of Rostock will take place for the first time in 2025. The lectures will be in English.
