If prospective students gain a study place at the beginning or during their Federal volunteer service (Bundesfreiwilligendienst, BFD), Voluntary year of social service (Freiwilliges soziales Jahr, FSJ) or Voluntary ecological year (Freiwilliges ökologisches Jahr, FÖJ), enrolment is only possible if the service ends on October 31st of the year at the latest. Otherwise they are eligible for reselection due to the former admission once their service has ended.

Applicants have to assert this claim in due form and time as less recent graduates during their reapplication on hochschulstart.de and submit the supporting documents.
