If you want to stay in Rostock for longer than one or two terms, you could find out about renting your own flat.
Many housing associations have recently adopted a student-friendly stance and are willing to help with your search. In Rostock there is a series of flat rental organisations who offer flats in different parts of the city.
The costs of renting will vary, depending on the location, size and condition of the flat. However, these flats are completely unfurnished (also without kitchen equipment and cupboards), you will need to take out separate contracts with external providers for electricity, heating and gas.

NOTE: Renting a flat from these companies is not recommendable for a stay of 1-2 terms. In addition, the following is also very important: First impressions count. We therefore recommend - particularly for international students - making a personal visit to the offices of the accommodation companies rather than just sending an email.
