Die Kulisse ist kalt, chirurgisch, weiß, feindlich und steril. Ein langer Tisch mit weißem Tuch bedeckt hält den nackten weiblichen Körper von M, rasiert auf dem Rücken liegend. Ganz in weiß gekleidet und mit rasiertem Kopf steht C und beginnt (tätowierend) die Wunden in Ms Körper zu öffnen. Die Wunde ist eine Grenze, die Ms Körper horizontal teilt; eine vernarbte Zukunft. Cs weiße Bekleidung wird mit dünnen Linien von Ms Blut beschmutzt, die Kontinuität der Linie im Körper der Anderen wird so durchbrochen. Die fortlaufende Narbe im Körper der Einen wird zu gebrochenen Blutlinien im Körper der Anderen.

Marina untersucht den Körper als unheimlich und fragmentiert, sozialer Behälter, Brücke und Fahrzeug, sinnlich und grotesk. Sie lebt in ihrer Performativität und hinterfragt Konstruktionen von Geschlecht, Andersartigkeit und Kolonialismus. 

Marina Barsy Janer explores the body as uncanny and fragmented, social container, bridge and vehicle, sensuous and grotesque. Trickster of her own historical, social, political, cultural, classed and sexed ties; she lives the trans-locality of her performativity. Her work has been driven by the existential quest of an affected-affective corpus where issues of gender, spirituality, otherness, and colonialism have emerged. Considering our relations and our being in the World as intersubjective and intercorporeal her work explores the soma-politics of the encounter providing new spaces for tension and negotiation to occur. Human/animal; subject/object; individual/communal; life/death, are some of the dichotomies that become blurred… Under the scope of ways of decolonising the body-geographies (de-linking from internal colonialism) she engages in forms of aesthetic activism exploring relationality, the systematic and the intrinsic fear, legal implications of the body, modes of resistance and belonging, patriarchy’s roles and their masquerades.

Caro Leys Praxis des Tätowierens hinterfragt gegebene Körper- und Ästhetik-Konventionen. Ihre Kunst reicht von schwarzen Minimalismen bis hin zu abstrakten Mal-Kompositionen.

Vagabonding between European capitals and oscillating between queer theory and creative practice, Caro Ley has developed an approach to tattooing which is about empathy and presence, always questioning subjective sensitivities and body politics. Enjoying the privilege of a comprehensive apprenticeship, she takes pride in her technical skills such as soldering needles, which allowed for her style to broaden from graphic, minimal blackwork to texturized painterly compositions. Her interest in transfeminism has led her to study subcultural genital modification and its potential for reclaiming ambiguous bodies under supervision of Paul B. Preciado before coming to settle in Berlin in order to promote a queer kind of tattooing.
