What can I study at University of Rostock?

The University of Rostock (UR) is a comprehensive university (Volluniversität), which means that you can take courses from all the faculties at the UR. There is an extensive range of courses available. Courses are divided into the following fields of study:

  4. Medicine/Life Sciences
  5. Linguistics/Humanities

Courses

Courses are divided into undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

» Undergraduate courses

Undergraduate courses lead to an initial professional qualification and can be started straight after the general university entrance certificate (Abitur) that is taken at school. The degrees awarded depend on the academic field in which they are taken:

  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Bachelor of Science
  • Bachelor of Laws
  • Bachelor of Education
  • State Examination (Medicine)
  • State Examination (Teaching)
  • Magister theoligiae

Postgraduate courses can only be started once you have an undergraduate degree. The following degrees are available:
