MNP in buildings
It is mandatory for all persons to wear mouth-nose protection (MNP) in UR buildings. At least one medical face mask (surgical masks) is required as MNP.
MNP at the workplace
Insofar as the distance rule cannot be observed due to work conditions and technical measures such as partitions between workplaces cannot be implemented, employees must wear at least medical face masks or FFP 2 masks or the respirators specified in the annex to the Corona-ArbSchV for mutual protection.
If the risk assessment shows that a medical face mask or an FFP2 mask must be worn, this will be provided centrally by the UR. The required number of masks are to be sent to the crisis management.
Medical face masks will be provided if:
- The minimum distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained
FFP2 masks or respirators listed in the annex to the Corona-ArbSchV are provided if:
- During the activities, hazards due to increased aerosol emission are to be expected or
- In the case of operational activities involving contact with other persons, a person present is not required to wear a mask.
The manufacturer's instructions and the operating instructions for respiratory protection masks must be observed.
- medical face masks manufacturer's notes
- KN95, manufacturer's instructions

MNP in teaching and non-teaching events.
Indoors, it is mandatory to wear a medical mask or respirator. For outdoor areas, MNP is recommended unless clearances can be maintained.
