Invitation to apply: Doctoral Scholarships of the Heinrich Böll Foundation

Dear students and graduates,

As one of the lecturers of the Heinrich Böll Foundation's scholarship program at the University of Rostock, I would like to draw your attention to the possibility of a doctoral scholarship.

For this purpose the Heinrich Böll Foundation offers two application deadlines per year: on 1th March and 1th September 2022.

Our doctoral scholarship offers a funding of 1350.-€, including 100 € research cost allowance and up to 100 € health insurance contribution.

The funding period usually covers 3 years for the doctorate. Doctoral candidates with children can be funded for up to 4 years, expectant mothers for an additional 3 months.

Activities subject to social insurance contributions are possible in addition to the scholarship: up to 10 hours/week for scientific employees; up to 5 hours/week for non-scientific activities.

Doctoral fellows receive additional financial support abroad for field research projects, participation in scientific congresses, tuition fees or similar.

In addition to financial support, the foundation offers scholarship holders a wide range of educational opportunities for political education, development of key competencies and science policy issues.

A broad network of doctoral students from all disciplines offers an interdisciplinary exchange on science, research, and politics as well as opportunities to participate in the foundation.

As a study institution, the Heinrich Böll Foundation is close to the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen party, but in principle independent of it.
